What does defining healthcare mean to you?

While growing up I had a natural curiosity for science and medicine that made me think I wanted to be a doctor -- I even took the MCAT and started medical school applications. However, a love for science doesn't necessarily translate into a passion for practicing medicine and I realized that I was actually more interested in impacting the broader healthcare ecosystem. 

What does defining partnership mean to you?

My interest in the broader healthcare ecosystem led me to study the industry from the perspectives of an investor at Carlyle and later as an operator at high growth startups Castlight Health (NYSE:CSLT) and Imagine Health where I led Analytics, Product, and Strategy. Through those roles I became deeply ingrained in the self-funded employer universe and quickly learned how technology and healthcare, when blended together, can dramatically improve both the patient experience and benefits ecosystem holistically. I welcome the opportunity to use that experience to help entrepreneurs building companies that are making a meaningful difference in healthcare.

 

What does defining leadership mean to you? 

The entrepreneurs who I've met and worked with have had an overwhelming passion for improving our healthcare system. It's that deep drive and desire that makes me excited to hear their stories, help develop their plans, and ultimately partner with them as they bring their vision to life. It's incredibly gratifying to be around individuals who have that level of commitment and I'm fortunate to be in a position to work with entrepreneurs like that every day.
